Plymouth Rocks

Non-industrial Plymouth Rocks have been listed under the ALBC's watch list for several years Now, thanks to the efforts of conservation breeders, they have been moved to the recovering list. While they have increased in number, it is important to continue to conserve this breed to ensure they do not become more seriously endangered again. We offer Barred Rocks, Partridge Rocks and Buff Rocks in the non-industrial category, as well as White Rocks. The Barred and White Rocks make excellent brown egg layers and meat birds, while the Partridge Rocks are beautiful show-quality birds. The Buff Rocks are the epitome of the back-yard layer, posessing a gentle nature and excellent mothering abilities.

Ameracuana/Aracauna

The famous green egg-layers have been listed under the study category by the ALBC. These are a wonderful mid-size chicken of great beauty, and of course, the "Easter" eggs are always a conversation piece.

Natural Cornish Cross

These birds are unique in that they are the natural cross between a Standard White Cornish and a White Rock. Current commercial Cornish Cross require monitored feeding to prevent excessive growth and "flip" - death by heart attack and overgrowth. Our Cornish Cross take slightly longer to mature than the commercial breeds, but they are well worth the wait and losses from overeating are non-esistent.
