am interested in knowing if anybody finds the colored glass fishing floats. called glasss balls. they were originally made in japan. When i was a much younger man in mmy twenties and thirtees i would find them washed up on the beach.i collected these "gems"found between florence or and seaside,or. ps they are difficult to find and i made many a trip empty handed. guess thats what made the hobby such fun. i still have a few of them and the largest is bigger than a standard size basket ball...

Found literally millions of what look like transparent dry leaves at the high tide mark off Driftwood beach North of Waldport Or. Found they were the remnants of a creaure called "by-the-wind Sailor" or Velella Velella. It was a truly amazing sight.
